Fabric Wreath Tutorial
I always enjoy creating a festive wreath for my home. This fabric
wreath comes together in a few simple steps and is a great way to
add some holiday cheer to any space.

Supplies: Fabric
(21 5x5 squares) Batting
Thread
Ribbon
Scissors
Needle
Marker
Circle
template
Step One: Using a marker and a circle template
(or bowl), trace a circle onto the back of a piece of fabric and
cut out the circle using scissors. Note: The
cutwork does not have to be exact as the edge of the fabric and
any stray marker lines will not be visible on the final project.
Step Two: Thread a needle and stitch around the
piece of fabric using a running stitch.
Step Three: Add a small piece of batting to the
center of the fabric circle and pull the end of the thread,
closing the circle around the batting, making a small ball. Sew
the ball closed and knot the end of the thread to seal the ball.
Trim any excess thread.
Step Four: Cut a long piece of thread, add a
needle, and tie a knot in the thread several inches from the end.
String 21 balls onto the piece of thread, making sure to pierce
each ball through the center. Tie the two ends of the thread
together, creating a complete circle.
Step Five: Cut a piece of ribbon and tie around
the wreath into a bow.
In almost no time at all, you have will have a beautiful wreath!
Use this wreath for a home accent or give as a gift to a special
someone. This style of wreath is easily adaptable to any season
or occasion, just by changing the pattern of the fabric.

Yes, this wreath is fun and is also a great project for children. I
made my first wreath like this when I was in 5th grade. I'm sure
those with better sewing skills than me will be able to make quick
work of this project. I can't wait to see what you all come up
with!

LOL Debbie. I have to admit that I did poke myself with the needle
a couple of times while I was making this wreath.

If you cut the fabric smaller could these be made into ornaments?
or would it be to hard to work with?
